Report: Roosevelt Roberts Faces Thomas Gifford At UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale

A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale according to ESPN (via Nolan King Of Flo Combat) as Roosevelt Roberts is going to be in action against Thomas Gifford.

Roberts (7-0-0) has already competed once under the UFC banner, defeating Darrell Horcher by first round submission at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale. Roberts also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 15, defeating Garrett Gross by second round submission. Roberts is undefeated thus far as a professional MMA fighter and that streak has lasted over two years.

Gifford (14-7-0-2NC) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so having won four of the last five fights. Gifford has competed twenty three bouts as a professional MMA fighter and only two of those encounters went the distance. Gifford also competed eleven times as an amateur MMA competitor, with the fighter picking up nine wins during that period.

UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale takes place on Saturday, April 27 from the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Yoel Romero and Ronaldo Souza headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
