Flyweight competitor Ryan Benoit became a free agent after his victory over Ashkan Mokhtarian at UFC Fight Night Sydney.

However, a run in free agency didn’t last too long because the fighter has signed a new four fight deal with the UFC.

This is according to a report from MMA Fighting.

Benoit has a 3-3-0 record in the promotion, having defeated Sergio Pettis, Fredy Serrano and Ashkan Mokhtarian, while suffering defeats to the trio of Josh Sampo, Ben Nguyen and Brandon Moreno.

The newly re-signed fighter competed in the Legacy Fighting Championships (now Legacy Fighting Alliance), earning victories over Cody Williams, Randy Villareal, Joseph Sandoval and Cody Fuller. Benoity has earned the majority of his UFC wins by KO/TKO, while suffering the majority of losses by submission.

Although nothing has been made official at this time, MMA Fighting also states that Benoit would like to step foot in the Octagon again by March. The fighter did not name a specific event or opponent he would like to battle in that next UFC appearance. Benoit does train with Janjira Muay Thai out of Dallas, Texas and the promotion does return to Texas next month for UFC Fight Night Austin on Sunday, February 18.
