Report: Sergey Spivak Faces Jared Vanderaa At UFC 256

A heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC 256 as Sergey Spivak faces Jared Vanderaa.

Spivak (11-2-0) has won two of four during his time in the UFC, with those wins coming over Tai Tuivasa and Carlos Felipe. Spivak is competing for the third time in 2020, making it his most active year as a professional MMA fighter. Spivak has picked up six of 11 wins by submission, with another four coming by way of KO/TKO.

Vanderaa (11-4-0) is making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Vanderaa competed on Dana White’s Contender Series 34, defeating Harry Hunsucker by first round TKO. Vanderaa is also a former Smash Global heavyweight champion, defeating Tony Lopez at Smash Global 9 to win the gold.

UFC 256 takes place on Saturday, December 12 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
