A bantamweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 238 as Sergio Pettis is in action against Alfred Khashakyan.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, but its placement on the card isn’t known at this time.
Pettis (18-5-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this encounter and does so after a near six-year run in the UFC. Pettis went 9-5-0 in the UFC, with notable wins coming over Chris Cariaso, John Moraga, Brandon Moreno and Joseph Benavidez. Pettis has seen his last nine professional MMA bouts go the distance and it has been over six years since the fighter got a finish.
Khashakyan (11-4-0) is also making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Khashakyan also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 2, suffering a first round knockout loss to Sean O’Malley. Khashakyan has picked up eleven wins as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came by KO/TKO.
Bellator 238 takes place on Saturday, January 25 from The Forum in Inglewood, California with Julia Budd and Cyborg headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
