The upcoming UFC Fight Night Lincoln card has taken a hit because Shamil Gamzatov has suffered an injury and has been pulled from a bout against Ovince St. Preux.
MMA Junkie first reported the news, stating that coronavirus travel restrictions in Russia as the reason for Gamzatov’s withdrawal. St. Preux is expected to remain on the card, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement for him to fight.
St. Preux (24-13-0) has won two of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Tyson Pedro and Michal Oleksiejczuk. St. Preux has previously fought for the UFC Interim Light Heavyweight Title, losing to Jon Jones by unanimous decision at UFC 197. St. Preux has suffered thirteen losses as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night Lincoln takes place on Saturday, April 25 from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska with Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
