A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC 238 according to Ariel Helwani & Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #2 Tony Ferguson is in action against #4 Donald Cerrone.
Ferguson (24-3-0) will enter the contest while in the midst of an eleven fight winning streak and he hasn’t been beaten in over seven years. Ferguson is a former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion, defeating Kevin Lee by third round submission at UFC 216 to claim the gold. Ferguson has competed twenty seven times as a professional MMA fighter and only seven of those bouts went the distance.
Cerrone (36-11-0-1NC) comes into the contest riding a three fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year. Cerrone is competing on a pay-per-view card for the first time in almost two years, with his last such appearance coming at UFC 214 in July on 2017. Cerrone has suffered eleven defeats as a professional MMA fighter and six of those losses have come by way of decision.
UFC 238 takes place on Saturday, June 8 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
