A welterweight division rematch will headline UFC Fight Night Minneapolis according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #1 Tyron Woodley is competing against #10 Robbie Lawler.
Woodley (19-4-1) is competing for the first time since losing the UFC Welterweight Title to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235. Woodley and Lawler met for the first time at UFC 201 in July of 2016, with Woodley scoring a first round knockout win to capture the UFC Welterweight Title. Woodley is competing on a Fight Night card for the first time in almost five years, with his last such appearance coming at UFC Fight Night 48 in August of 2014.
Lawler (28-13-0-1NC) has won just one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Donald Cerrone at UFC 214. Lawler is a former UFC Welterweight Champion, defeating Johny Hendricks to win the gold at UFC 181. Lawler has picked up twenty eight wins as a professional MMA fighter and twenty of those victories coming by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Minneapolis takes place on Saturday, June 29 from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota with Tyron Woodley and Robbie Lawler headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
