UFC 254 took place this past Saturday and while the pay-per-view card brought in an approximate, but respectable 675,000 buys, the preliminary card didn’t do so well.
A report from MMA Fighting states that the UFC 254 preliminary card, which aired live on ESPN 2, brought in approximately 343,000 viewers and a .14 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. Those numbers mean that the UFC 254 preliminary card drew the lowest viewership for the UFC on any ESPN channel for 2020. A potential factor for the low ratings could be that the preliminary card began at 12pm EST., which is about four to six hours earlier than when the preliminary cards usually go live.
The four fight preliminary card saw Tai Tuivasa defeat Stefan Struve, Casey Kenney defeat Nathaniel Wood, Shavkat Rakhmonov defeat Alex Oliveira and Sam Alvey fight Da Ung Jung to a draw.
Up next for the UFC is UFC Vegas 12, headlined by Uriah Hall versus Anderson Silva, which stream live this Saturday Night on ESPN+.
