The UFC is celebrating its twenty fifth anniversary this year and the promotion will keep the party going when they debut this September in Moscow, Russia according to RT Sport.

This event will take place at the Olympiyskiy Stadium, which could seat up to 35,000 fans if need be. The UFC has also booked the arena for September 14 and September 15, with the fifteenth being the most likely date for the event, as it falls on a Saturday.

It is unknown at this time if the event is going to be a pay-per-view card or a “Fight Night” card.

Another unknown is just who will compete on the card, but Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, father of Khabib Nurmagomedov, stated that his son and many other great Russian fighters could all be in the Octagon that night.

“Most likely, this event is going to be connected with us. We will fight in April first with Tony Ferguson, and then we will receive a date for a fight with McGregor,” said Nurmagomedov to RT Sport. “Although I can’t exclude the possibility they will make us wait for Ferguson until September, and there won’t be an April fight. We have many good fighters who can fill the arena - Alexander Volkov, Gadzhimurad Antigulov, Mairbek Taisumov. Fans love Zabit Magomedsharipov now. Rustam Khabilov and Islam Makhachev can also join. Many (fighters) will want to perform both in the UFC and at home at the same time. Plus it’s very interesting for (Russian) fans.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov recently stated that he didn’t think the UFC would ever come to the country, but things have obviously changed now.
