Report: UFC Releases Magomed Bibulatov

There appears to be one less threat in the UFC Flyweight Division as the promotion has reportedly released Magomed Bibulatov.

Bloody Elbow first reported that the fighter had been cut by the UFC, while Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA has stated that the released fighter has already signed with the Absolute Championship Akhmat (ACA) promotion.

There is no word as well if the release had to do with the UFC allegedly eliminating the men’s flyweight division in the future.

Bibulatov (1-2-0 UFC, 14-2-0 overall) ended his UFC run while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of John Moraga and Rogerio Bontorin. Bibulatov scored his first and only win in the UFC at UFC 210 in April of 2017, defeating Jenel Lausa by unanimous decision. Bibulatov was also the first and only World Series Of Fighting (WSOF) Flyweight Champion, defeating Donovan Frelow at the WSOF 24 to claim the gold.

Although Bibulativ has apparently signed with the ACA promotion, no word has been given at this time as to when he’ll make a promotional debut or whom that bout is going to come against.
