The Rizin Light Heavyweight Champion is making his way to the UFC as Jiri Prochazka has reportedly signed with the promotion.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN first reported the news, but the length of the contract or any financial numbers associated with the deal weren’t revealed at this time.
Prochazka (26-3-1) comes into the UFC while riding a ten fight winning streak and he hasn’t been defeated in over four years. Prochazka became the Rizin Light Heavyweight Champion by defeating King Mo in their second meeting by third round TKO at Rizin 15 in April of 2019. Prochazka has competed twice since winning light heavyweight gold, defeating a pair of UFC veterans in Fabio Maldonado and CB Dollaway. Prochazka has picked up twenty six wins as a professional MMA fighter and twenty three of them have come by way of KO/TKO. Prochazka has also competed a total of thirty times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those encounters went the distance.
There is no word at this time as to when Prochazka will make his UFC debut or whom that will come against.
