Melissa Gatto is suffering from an infection and has been pulled from UFC 237, replacing her against Talita Bernardo according to AG Fight is Viviane Araujo.
Bernardo (6-3-0) has won just one of three thus far in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Sarah Moras at UFC Fight Night Moncton. Bernardo is competing in her home country for the first time in the fighter’s UFC tenure, which began in September of 2017. Bernardo has seen four of her professional MMA fights go the distance, with the fighter winning two and losing two of those encounters.
Araujo (6-1-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Araujo has competed seven times as a professional MMA fighter and none of her bouts have gone the distance. Araujo has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against fellow UFC fighter Sarah Frota by first round TKO at NP Fight Brazil 6 in April of 2017.
UFC 237 takes place on Saturday, May 11 from the Arena Da Baixada in Curitiba, Brazil with Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
