Bellator 158 Recap: Video Of MVP's Crazy Knockout, Paul Daley Defeated, Matt Mitrione Fights For Second Time In Three Weeks

MMA

Bellator continues to try to make their mark on global MMA, and the company took it's next step in doing so by traveling to London for Bellator 158.

The story of the evening, per usual, was Michael "Venom" Page. Page told Fightful.com that Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos was 'just another fight for him.' As it turns out, he was telling the truth. Page moved to 11-0 after a psychotic second round flying knee that sent Santos to the ground holding his face. As if that weren't enough, Page pulled out a Pokemon hat and Pokeball, before rolling it at a prone Cyborg. Yikes.

Before the nasty flying knee, Page had destroyed Santos on the feet with a body kick. This came after a round 1 in which saw Cyborg ragdoll Page to the ground, a strategy in which many have threatened to employ against "MVP," but have been unable to do.

England's own Paul Daley headlined the card, and faced Douglas Lima, who replaced his rival Josh Koscheck. Daley picked Lima's name from a list of possible opponents, and it proved to be a bad call. Lima was way too much for Daley, as Daley was unable to land any of his short, powerful punches, and fell victim to the takedown. This is a big win for Lima, as it's his first time back in the cage in a year.

Many questioned Matt Mitrione fighting Oli Thompson just a few weeks after Mitrione was knocked silly in his Bellator 157 win over Carl Seumanutafa. Mitrione ended up making the right choice financially, as he earned a second round TKO victory over the UFC veteran Thompson, after dominating for the duration of two rounds
