Ricky Rainey Replacing Abdul Razak Alhassan At UFC On Fox 29

Abdul Razak Alhassan has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC On Fox 29, replacing him against Muslim Salikhov is Ricky Rainey.

Salikhov (13-2-0) is currently winless in UFC competition, dropping a bout to Alex Garcia by second round submission at UFC Fight Night Shanghai. Salikhov entered the UFC while riding an eleven fight winning streak and ten of those wins came by a form of first round finish. Salikhov had defeated two UFC veterans prior to signing with the promotion last year, with those victories coming over Ivan Jorge and Melvin Guillard.

Rainey (13-4-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and does so on the strength of a two bout winning streak. Rainey has spent the last three-plus years in Bellator MMA, with his last bout in the promotion being a unanimous decision win over Marc Stevens at Bellator 182. Rainey has also seen his last three bouts go the distance and it has nearly three years since the competitor earned a finish.

UFC On Fox 29 takes place on Saturday, April 14 from the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona with Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
