Rizin 8 is in the books and a lot of great action took place in the Saitama Super Arena, which housed over 15,000 fans watching the action. Kyoji Horiguchi, Manel Kape, Shintaro Ishiwatari and Takafumi Otsuka all advanced to the semi-finals of the bantamweight grand prix, which is set for December 31 (along with the finals).
Controversy follows UFC veteran Ian McCall again because the competitor lost the bout against Manel Kape after getting his head cut by the ring ropes, which caused a doctor stoppage. Other notable moments on the card saw UFC veteran Cindy Dandois upset the previously undefeated Reina Miura, while Jae Hoon Moon upset UFC veteran Anthony Birchak in a bantamweight grand prix reserve bout.
