UFC middleweight veteran and former Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza has announced his retirement from MMA — this and much more on Wednesday's social media roundup.
Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza retires from MMA
Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza is an MMA veteran who won the Strikeforce middleweight title and was always one or two wins away from a UFC middleweight title shot.
In his most recent fight, Souza lost via submission and in the process got his arm broke, after this, speculation around Souza's future in MMA and more specifically the UFC was uncertain especially with the roster cuts which the UFC has been making over the last 18 months.
Souza has announced his retirement from MMA after an incredible career which involved winning a Strikeforce middleweight title and wins over fighters such as Gegard Mousasi, Chris Weidman, Vitor Belfort, and Derek Brunson.

Will Brooks wants another opportunity in the UFC
When Will Brooks signed for the UFC several years ago, many fans were excited to see how he would do in the promotion after a very successful run in Bellator.
Things did not work out for Brooks in the UFC and he suffered some bad losses.
Brooks has called for himself to be given a second opportunity in the UFC to fight Kevin Lee.
I mean come on @danawhite @seanshelby how good of a story would that be? I come in off 2 yrs layoff beat Lee short notice, drop back to 155 fix my losing UFC record, and smack Chandler again in a different promotion... let's get a little weird! https://t.co/Y9AzJveB0p
