Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is now engaged to longtime boyfriend in UFC fighter Travis Browne.
TMZ is reporting that Browne proposed to Rousey under a waterfall as they were vacationing in the country of New Zealand.
“It felt like the right place to do it,” Browne told TMZ.
A date for the couples big day has yet to be set, the duo got engaged this past week.
Upon hearing the news of the couples engagement, UFC President Dana White shared some thoughts with TMZ.
“I’m very happy for Ronda, and I’m looking forward to the wedding,” says White.
Rousey hasn’t had much success in the UFC in the last few years, losing her title to Holly Holm at UFC 193 and then losing an opportunity to regain the gold after being knocked out by Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.
As for Browne, the heavyweight contender will be looking to end a three fight losing streak when he faces Aleksey Oleinik at UFC 213 this July.
The former women’s champion will be staying busy prior to the wedding with Browne, although her MMA future is uncertain at this point, the fighter does have a lot of acting engagements ahead.
