Ryan Garcia Makes Return To Ring Against Emmanuel Tagoe In April

Former interim WBC lightweight champion, Ryan Garcia, will make his return to the ring against former IBO lightweight champion Emmanuel Tagoe on April 9 from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Garcia's promoter and founder of Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar De La Hoya, revealed the news via a tweet. The 23-year old Victorville, California native hasn't fought since January 2021 after dealing with some mental health issues and undergoing surgery on his right wrist back in November. Garcia is 21-0 as a pro and is coming off of a seventh-round TKO victory over 2012 Olympic gold medalist, Luke Campbell, in his last appearance. Tagoe meanwhile is 32-1 respectively himself as a pro and in his most recent bout defeated Mason Menard via a majority decision back in November 2020.
