When MVP and Paul Daley got into a scuffle in the crowd following Daley’s loss at Bellator 179, many MMA pundits assumed a fight would be taken place soon.
That apparently isn’t going to be the case because Bellator MMA CEO Scott Coker says that two British sluggers will do battle next year.
“Paul didn’t say he would not fight ‘MVP’; what he said is that he would not fight him in September,” Coker told MMA Junkie. “It’s a fight that will happen, I want to say in the first quarter of next year in London.”
MVP recently called out Daley through social media for not fighting him earlier, including at a potential Bellator MMA return to England this September.
Coker also says that Daley requested some time off to get some rest and deal with some nagging injuries.
“He said, ‘I’m just coming off a fight, I’ve been through a lot of training camps with injuries, and I want to rest. I’m not going to fight in September against ‘MVP,’ but I will fight him,'” Coker said. “Paul Daley is not going to duck anybody. He’s going to fight everybody. We will put that back together at some point in 2018.”
Coker is going to be seen next at Bellator 180, which takes place on Saturday, June 24.
