A victorious Yusuff called out Kron Gracie after the bout, mainly because he wants to fight the best jiu-jitsu person around.
“I feel like, beating Sheymon I just beat a guy that’s at the top of his skillset in his traditional martial art,” Yusuff said after the event (via Ben Fowlkes & Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie). “And the best person in jiu-jitsu that we have right now is Kron. So if I could get both martial arts out of the way, I would like to fight the best boxer in my division too. One at a time, go down the list. If I could beat Kron, that’s just another feather in my cap on my way to being the best in the world.”
Gracie just made his UFC debut earlier this year at UFC Fight Night Phoenix, defeating Alex Caceres by first round submission.
Yusuff also joked after the fight that he only competed at about a level of 30%, which is some Yusuff says all Nigerian fighters are allowed to do.
“All Nigerians are guaranteed one 30 percent fight,” Yusuff said. “That was my 30 percent.”
There has been no response yet by Gracie from the challenged issued by Yusuff, as Gracie doesn’t have another fight booked at the moment.
