Sodiq Yusuff is back in action this weekend at UFC Fight Night Philadelphia, facing Sheymon Moraes in a featherweight division attraction.
The featherweight fighter wants to help get his brother and sisters to America, but Yusuff needs help to get the job done.
“After this fight, if they have a post-fight press conference, I’m going to try and get the word out if there’s anybody that can help me out to get my brother and sisters visas to come over here,” he told MMA Junkie.
Yusuff’s brother and sisters are back in Nigeria, as Yusuff’s mother brought just him and a younger brother to America when they left Nigeria.
One huge reason that Yusuff wants to win is that a post-fight interview with give the fighter time to plead for assistance.
“When I get that mic time, I’ll ask for help,” he said. “Maybe there’s someone out there that knows a way that I could get a visa, because everything we’ve been trying has been pretty hard to get everybody over here. The lines to get a visa are way too long; it’s probably going to be 10, 15 years before everybody can come over here. So maybe there’s a lawyer or something that knows what they’re doing and can help me out.”
UFC Fight Night Philadelphia takes place on Saturday, March 30 from the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with Edson Barboza and Justin Gaethje headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
