Tatiana Suarez Says Joanna Jedrzejczyk Turned Down Fight

MMA

A huge women’s strawweight division fight could’ve been coming our way in the form of #2 Joanna Jedzrejczyk taking on #3 (Tied) Tatiana Suarez.

However, a potential bout between the two fighters would be taking place because a former champion apparently turned it down.

This all started when a fan on Instagram by the name of martialartsgymgirls2 asked Suarez about a potential bout, which Suarez first responded by saying:

“Not gonna happen.”

After a few fans expressed their disappointment on the matter, a fallow up was issued by Suarez, indicating that Jedrzejczyk turned down the opportunity:

“Me too. But, she already said no. I think she is taking a break.”

It should be noted that neither the UFC and Jedzrejczyk have commented on the potential bout even being officially offered to both fighters.

The only other fighter ranked ahead of Suarez at the moment that isn’t booked in a fight is Nina Ansaroff (#3 Tied), who was last seen in action at UFC 231, defeating Claudia Gadelha by unanimous decision. Suarez was last seen in the Octagon at UFC 228, defeating former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Carla Esparza by third round TKO.
