After getting the release that he asked for from the UFC, Tatsuya Kawajiri has signed a multi-fight contract with the Rizin Fighting Federation.

Kawajiri (35-10-2) fought six times in the UFC, defeating Sean Soriano, Dennis Siver and Jason Knight, while suffering defeats to Clay Guida, Dennis Bermudez and Cub Swanson. Kawajiri’s last fight in the UFC came at UFC Fight Night 92, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Cub Swanson.

The 38-year old will be competing at one of the two year-end events for Rizin FF, those events will be taking place on December 29 and December 31. When Kawajiri does compete for Rizin FF, it will be the first time since Dream 18 in 2012 that he has competed in his home country of Japan.

Kawajiri is currently riding a two fight losing streak and he has not earned a victory in nearly a full year.

Kawajiri has yet to comment on the signing with Rizin FF and the promotion has yet to comment either,  but will be competing in the promotion by the end of the year.
