TJ Dillashaw Issues Statement On UFC Brooklyn Defeat

MMA

UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw suffered a first round TKO loss to UFC Flyweight Champion Henry Cejudo in the main event of UFC Fight Night Brooklyn.

The loss drew the ire of several people for the perceived early stoppage by referee Kevin MacDonald, as both Dillashaw and UFC President Dana White spoke out against the stoppage.

Dillashaw would still take to Instagram a short time after the loss to issue the following statement:

Cejudo did say that he would grant Dillashaw a rematch, but would like their second encounter to be up a weight class at bantamweight. Cejudo may have also saved the men’s flyweight division with the victory over Dillashaw, as the weight class was expected to be dropped by the UFC sometime this year.
