Top 10 Bantamweight Added To UFC Fight Night Fresno

A bantamweight division attraction has been added to this December’s UFC Fight Night Fresno card as #7 Aljamain Sterling is competing against Rani Yahya.

Sterling (14-2-0) will enter the fight on the strength of a two bout winning streak, defeating the duo of Augusto Mendes and Renan Barao. Sterling is also a former Cage Fury Fighting Championships Bantamweight Champion, defeating Sean Santella to win the gold at CFFC 11 in 2011. Sterling has suffered only two defeats as a pro, coming in the UFC to Bryan Caraway and Raphael Assuncao.

Yahya (24-9-0-1NC) has won five of his last six in the UFC, with notable wins coming over Johnny Bedford, Michinori Tanaka and Masanori Kanehara. Yahya also competed in the World Extreme Cagefighting promotion, where he defeated future UFC Featherweight Title challenger Mark Hominick in 2007. Yahya has suffered three losses during his UFC tenure, with two of them coming to former title challengers in Chad Mendes and Joe Soto.

UFC Fight Night Fresno takes place on Saturday, December 9 from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California with Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
