Tyron Woodley Claims Ronda Rousey Would Return To UFC For Gina Carano Fight

Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since getting punched into oblivion by Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.

According to UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley, the former women’s champ would only fight again if the fight was against Gina Carano.

“Gina Carano, maybe. I think that’s the only other person with a big enough name to make her come back and fight. It’s not a fighter that, like Amanda Nunes that has been wrecking everybody, or like some of these up-and-coming fighters. She is such a big household name, she has to fight somebody that is going to match her stature,” Woodley said on The Hollywood Beatdown.

Rousey has been teasing a move to the WWE, even having trained with former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick.

Woodley wouldn’t mind seeing Rousey in the wrestling ring, but he also believes Rousey can wrestle and fight simultaneously.

“She can’t do both, she should not do both. I never want to retire somebody, but I think she’s done enough in the sport of mixed martial arts, and if she wanted to walk away, this might not be a bad time to pull up to a different avenue to open a new chapter in your life. We’re gonna watch her in the WWE,” says Woodley.

Carano hasn’t fought in well over eight years and that last bout came against UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg.
