Teila Tuli has sadly passed away.
On the June 20th edition of Island Life Live, Lina Girl Langi announced the news that Taylor Wily, who was billed as Teila Tuli in his UFC 1 appearance, had passed away. His manager and friend Michael J. Henderson told The LA Times that Taylor had passed away from natural causes.
Taylor would feature in the first bout of UFC 1, representing sumo wrestling in the tournament to crown the top discipline in fighting. During the bout, he would take a kick to the face from Gerard Gordeau that would send his tooth into the crowd. He would end up losing by TKO and would end his mixed martial arts career there.
Taylor would go on to act, appearing in 171 episodes of Hawaii Five-O as Kamekona Tupuola, also appearing in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
