Venue & Location

Luckily for all of us fans of MMA, there is not too much time left until UFC 315. The event is scheduled for May the 10th. Canada is the home country, and the venue for this one-of-a-kind event is the already famous Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. The Montreal Canadiens home court has seen its fair share of fighting on the ice, but none of that hockey action comes close enough to what UFC has in store for us with the 315 event.

Top Names at UFC 315

UFC 315 can't come fast enough. Belal Muhammad has gotten us used to winning. The man started his UFC career with a loss back in 2016 but since then he's been nothing short of amazing raking up 10 wins in the process. We're talking about one of the most impressive runs in recent UFC history. Belal has 15 wins inside the company, with his overall MMA record standing at 23-3. He's the current champion within the division having won his title against Lean Edwards to crown himself the welterweight champion.

The only downside to Belal Mohammad and his title reign is the fact that he's not a knockout master. The fans do not hold him in high regard as he ends 75% of his bouts via decision. This is far from being impressive, and Belal will most likely be looking to change a few things in his approach to this title defence. Not to impress the fans, but to leave little space for Jack in their coming bout.

Jack Della Maddalena comes into this bout with a rather different pedigree. Della Maddalena is an impressive fighter in his own right, having a similar career start to the one Belal Mohammad had. After initiating his MMA career with 2 losses, Jack has been on one of the hottest streaks in the industry with 17 consecutive wins. Seven of those wins came in the UFC, meaning that he's yet to lose a fight under the wing of Dana White. A true champion and worthy title contender Della Maddalena is. Unlike Belal, Jack is known for finishing his opponents, as he has done in his first four UFC fights. 71% of all of his duels end up with a KO/KTO, making him a rather different type of fighter to his opponent at UFC 315. We also should mention that he is a proud owner of four performance of the night bonuses, showing that he's not only an excellent fighter but also a showman in the octagon. While Belal remains a favourite to win their bout, we wouldn't put it past Della Maddalena when it comes to his title challenge at UFC 315. Now that you have that behind you, we can take a look at one of the most impressive fighters at UFC 315 in Valentina Shevchenko. The WMMA has had plenty of top names representing the sport, and Shevchenko is certainly one of the names of female MMA Mount Rushmore. Not only that she has won bets on two occasions during her 10 year stint at the UFC she also has 7 consecutive title defences. While losing the title once to Alexa Grasso in 2023, Valentina was also quick to take the title back and defend it once more. Her resilience is second to none, and we expect nothing less than another top performance at UFC 315. Canada is not ready for Shevchenko.

It will not be an easy task for Manon Fiorot to face Valentina at UFC 315 but we surely expect her to give her best in the upcoming bout. Manon has 7 wins in the UFC, 12 overall, and has lost only one fight in her career. Just some of the names she has managed to take down in the UFC include the likes of Rose Namajunas and Erin Blanchfield. Fiorot knows how to take a fight all the way till the end but she also knows how to finish an opponent. A master tactician, she will certainly be looking to add a title to her career in Canada. The number of her wins in the decider amounts to 50% which is a clear sign that Shevchenko vs. Fiorot could go either way. The odds currently favour the legendary Valentina, but anything could go down in two months time, and trust us when we say this.

Main & Co-Main Events

The headliner for the UFC 315 event is going to be the Mohhamad vs. Della Maddalena bout. Plenty is expected from this bout, and with title on the line, welterweight could have another name leading the way in the future. If you're into UFC Betting, this main event should have all of your attention.

Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena

Unfortunately, Belal was never a fan favourite to begin with. His fighting style simply doesn't garner fans. Yet, his ability was never put into question. Just ask Leon Edwards. Bellal almost ended the man's career, as Edwards was never the same after losing his belt to Mohammad. When you have a fighter with Mohammad's grappling and ability to mount pressure on opponents, you get an octagon winner. Edwards had nothing in his arsenal to counter Belal, and it could be a similar situation when Muhammad faces Jack. What Belal does best is taking the air out of his opponent's early one, never really letting them take off. The recipe worked so far, and we see no reason for Belal to change anything in his approach.

Jack Della Maddalena will have a different approach to this bout, we are sure. So far, in his UFC career, Jack has looked more than impressive. He is a hard hitter, but all the chances are that his fighting style falls into the lap of Belal. With the title on the line the fighter with a more impressive combo of skills is going to win and at this moment that is Muhammad. So, if you look at the odds, you will notice that Jack Della Maddalena is entering this bout as a massive underdog. For sports bettors there lies a chance to wager some cash on his win, and take home a massive payout, but it is a less likely option. If you're in the mood to take a few risks, take a swing at Jack Della Maddalena winning via KO. After all, his hitting is on another level and Belal is getting up there with age at 36.

Valentina Shevchenko vs Manon Fiorot

Shevchenko is one year older than Belal, but with 37 years of age she is showing no signs of slowing down. When you take a look at the last few of her appearances, you can see that the fire is still there and that she does not want to let her title go to someone else's hands. The desire to compete was evident after her loss vs. Grasso where she lost, and then got back her title. It is an impressive feat, and adding her age, it is a legendary move by one impressive champion. 7 title defences is not something we're most likely going to see ever again, but witnessing another one against Fiorot is on the table.

Manon Fiorot has all the makings of a future UFC champ, and everything that she's done since entering the company is proof of this. She was in no rush to compete for the title before establishing a name for herself and a hard ground to fall back in case of a defeat. Right now she's on a hot 7-win streak and will be looking to add to it when she faces Shevchenko at UFC 315. While the strength and the talent are certainly there, we are not too sure that she can take Valentina down at the moment. The betting markets paint Manon as a huge underdog and she will not be fighting only one of the top performers in the history of the UFC but the odds too.

While these two bouts are the main and co-main events at the upcoming UFC 315 event, the rest of the card is not less impressive. It includes the following bouts, which are all subject to a change if something unexpected occurs. At the moment we have these bouts scheduled for UFC 315:

  • Modestas Bukauskas vs Ion Cuțelaba
  • José Aldo vs Aiemann Zahabi
  • Jéssica Andrade vs Jasmine Jasudavicius
  • Gilbert Burns vs Michael Morales
  • Mike Malott vs Charles Radtke
  • Alexa Grasso vs Natália Silva
  • Navajo Stirling vs Ivan Erslan
  • Marc-André Barriault vs Bruno Silva
  • Brad Katona vs Bekzat Almakhan

As you can see, there's plenty to look forward to at the UFC 315 event on 10th May at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. While each of these bouts will have a history of their own, the one we will single out this time around in addition to the main and co-main events is the duel between the legendary Jose Aldo and Aiemann Zahabi. It's been a while since we saw Aldo in action, and now he will face Montreal's own Zahabi on May 10th. The legendary Brazilian fighter enters this bout as a favourite with 1.50 odds compared to 2.48 paid for the Zahabi's win.

The three-round bantamweight bout will see the King of Rio showcasing his MMA skills once more for all of his fans accumulated during the years at the top. Aldo is one of the longest tenured MMA fighters in the world having won 32 bouts with 9 losses, with an 14-8 UFC score. His last octagon entry was last October where he lost to Mario Bautista. His return to the octagon saw him collect his first loss after what appeared to be his retirement, before which he won a duel vs. Jonathan Martinez in early 2004. Before returning, Aldo was out of the world of MMA for over a year.

Zahabi, on the other hand, is a young stud in the UFC. Before joining the UFC he had 6 MMA fights and 6 wins, but after joining the UFC he amassed two losses in addition to 6 more wins. The 12-2 fighter is on a hot streak right now after a massive five consecutive wins. While the bookies are favouring the more experienced Aldo, we wouldn't put it past Zahabi this time around. Father time took his tool on Jose and Zahabi is one of the company's rising stars. While anything can happen, we personally do not see Jose Aldo putting on a career resurrection at UFC 315.

With UFC 315 some two months away, you have plenty of time to prepare for this Canadian battling scene. In the meantime you can focus on UFC 314 scheduled for April 12th in Miami, Florida where the stars of the night are going to be Alexander Volkanovksi and Diego Lopes battling for the featherweight title now that it has been vacated by Ilia Topuria. With 314 and 315 events we have one of the best UFC springs in recent memory that will give birth to more than a few new champions.
