The prelim card for UFC Vegas 17 featured a wide variety of highlights, from a spinning wheel kick from Anthony Pettis to a flying triangle choke by Jimmy Flick.

Anthony Pettis def. Alex Morono via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

The former champion Pettis weathered a blistering start from Morono, to coast to a fairly easy 3 round decision that featured a lot of grappling, and some of the flashy kicks Pettis has long been known for.

Pannie Kianzad def. Sijara Eubanks via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

In a gritty, close and back and forth battle between ranked bantamweight contenders, Sweden's Pannie Kianzad emerged triumphant over Sijara Eubanks

Deron Winn def. Antonio Arroyo via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

In a true David vs. Goliath matchup, Deron Winn overcame a nine-inch height disadvantage in his fight vs. Antonio Arroyo, and rose a wrestling heavy approach to a tough grinding decision over 15 minutes. 

Taila Santos def. Gillian Robertson via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 29-28)

After engaging in an active grappling battle, Talia Santos emerged victorious over in a women's flyweight bought.  Robertson was very active hunting for submissions off her back, but Santos stayed safe and controlled the fight en route to a decision victory.

Tafon Nchukwi def. Jamie Pickett via unanimous decision (30-25, 30-26, 30-26)

In a matchup between two debuting Contender Series prospects Tafon Nchukwi showed an impressive power punching, and clinch game en route to a dominating 3 round decision over Jamie Pickett

Jimmy Flick def. Cody Durden by submission via triangle choke (3:18, R1)

Flick's rare and flashy submission finish may serve as a good omen on a card that looks particularly exciting on paper. 

Christos Giagos def. Carlton Minus via unanimous decision (30-26, 29-27, 29-28)

The UFC Vegas 17 card got off to a surprising start with a great performance on incredibly short notice by Christos Giagos.
