Seven fight UFC veteran Adriano Martins was cut by the UFC after a loss to Kajan Johnson at UFC 215, but the fighter has already found a new home.
That’s because the Russia-based Fight Nights Global promotion has inked the Brazilian to a contract and Martins believes it won’t take long for him to secure gold in the new organization.
“I know my potential, and I believe that soon I will be fighting for the Fight Nights Global belt,” Martins said to MMA Junkie. “See you guys shortly.”
Martins went 4-3-0 during his stint in the UFC, earning victories over the likes of Daron Cruickshank, Juan Manuel Puig, Rustam Khabilov and Islam Makhachev.
Akhmet Aliev is the current FNG Lightweight Champion and Martins already has his sights set on the title holder.
“I watched Akhmed Aliev win the title,” Martins stated. “He had a great fight, a great victory – props to him – but I came to Fight Nights Global to be champion, and I will show this.”
There is no debut date or opponent set yet for Martins and FNG, but those announcements could come at anytime now.
