UFC Veteran Melvin Guillard Appears In Court To Answer For One Crime, Gets Arrested For Another

UFC veteran Melvin Guillard hasn’t had much luck as a professional MMA fighter in recent years and that bad luck has also extended to his ability to stay out of legal trouble.

The fighter was in court on September 10 to answer for charges that he had allegedly attacking his girlfriend this past April, when police arrested the fighter after the hearing for an alleged role in a bar fight that took place a week earlier.

According to a report from MMA Weekly, a still jailed Guillard attacked two people at a Denver, Colorado bar, shoving one patron and knocking the second one out. It is unknown what sparked the brawl at this time, but the bond is set at $5,000, which must be paid in full via cash.

Guillard was last seen in action this past July at a Rizin event, suffering a knockout loss to fellow UFC veteran Takanori Gomi. Guillard is currently in the midst of an eight fight losing streak and he hasn’t won a bout in over four years, with that last victory coming over Gesias Cavalcante via second round TKO at the World Series Of Fighting 11 in July of 2014.
