Valentina Shevchenko Open To Weili Zhang Fight At Flyweight

UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko has admitted that she would welcome a fight with Weili Zhang at 125lbs.

Shevchenko dominated Jessica Andrade at UFC 261 and has left herself in a position with no obvious contender to her crown. It is expected that the winner of Lauren Murphy vs. Joanne Calderwood will face off against "Bullet" next but the champ has admitted she would welcome recently dethroned strawweight champion, Weili Zhang, to the flyweight division. Shevchenko admits that she expects a rematch between Zhang and Rose Namajunas to happen after "Thug" won the title from the UFC's first Chinese champion.

“If she wants to go to 125, who can stop her? Nobody can stop her? It’s her decision. It’s the same with Jessica Andrade. But she will have to have her fight to claim she’s ready for a title fight. This is how it’s supposed to be but yeah (I’m open to it),” Shevchenko said to James Lynch of LowKickMMA (h/t BJPENN.com). “I assume she’s going to have a rematch with Rose so this is what is going to be the next step. And after it, it is probably going to be something they will think about.”
