The UFC has recently made some changes to their contracts with fighters, that could end up being very problematic going forward.
After obtaining several new UFC contracts, Bloody Elbow's John S. Nash and Anton Tabuena reported three weeks ago that the company has added things like an arbitration agreement, class action waiver, and longer "sunset" clauses into their promotional agreements. Nash even went into greater detail about the changes in the latest episode of his podcast Hey Not The Face! which you can listen to below.
Fightful reached out to the following prominent eleven MMA agencies, to get their response to the report from Bloody Elbow and give their general thoughts on these new changes from the UFC to their contracts. They were given over 72 hours to respond or comment for this story, and none of them chose to. If these are the people who are negotiating deals for these fighters, and they can't even comment on contractual changes that could impede their clients rights, that can't be a good sign for the state of fighter pay and rights improving in the promotion.
