Knowing jiu jitsu is never a bad thing and that form of martial arts helped a man recently stop a baby snatcher from kidnapping a four year old child.
The hero in the story is Brian Kemsley, who saw the man trying to steal a baby after the mother screamed. Kemsley would get the man to the ground and hold him down while using his jiu jitsu until authorities arrived to make the arrest. Kemsley told WPIX-TV that the assailant was shouting “How do you know this is her baby? Why are you helping her? This could be my baby.”
Kemsley posted the following about the incident on a now deleted Instagram post:
"Here’s the thing, I don’t enjoy jujitsu, I don’t think training is particularly fun, but I have a lot of respect for it as it is absolutely essential in a street fight and self-defense."
After everything calmed down and the assailant, who Kemsley believes may have mental problems, thanked him for helping rescue her child.
