It would seem like the longtime rivalry between Wanderlei Silva and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rampage Jackson won’t come to an end.
The Brazilian slugger has stated that he is going to be fighting Rampage for a fourth time on Saturday, September 29.
”Like people say, it’s very hard for a good professional to retire,” Silva said on a Facebook video. “I just got a call from Bellator inviting to be part of the Sept. 29 (card) against Quinton Jackson in the main event in California. It’s our fourth bout, I won two of the first three, so it’s 2-1 for me.”
Silva won the first two fights in the series against Jackson, with those victories coming by way of KO/TKO at Pride FC Final Conflict 2003 and Pride 28. Jackson would win the last and so far last meeting between the two at UFC 92, with that win coming by knockout.
There is no word at this time as to what weight class the fight will happen at because Silva bounces between middleweight and light heavyweight, while Rampage fights at both light heavyweight and heavyweight.
Bellator MMA is holding a press conference in just a few short days, with Bellator President Scott Coker, Rampage Jackson and Wanderlei Silva in attendance.
