Nia Jax Says The Rock Is Constantly Giving Her Advice

Nia Jax says The Rock "truly cares" about her and her career.

In 2014, Nia Jax went through a tryout and was signed to a developmental deal by WWE. She had no prior professional wrestling experience but got the try-out because of her relation to The Rock. In an episode of Talk is Jericho, Jax discussed how The Rock has impacted her career thus far. Jax claimed when she was signed Triple H called The Rock with the news. When she began her career, The Rock gave her the first of many pieces of advice.

Chris Jericho: People That Hate Are Going To Hate, I Know If What I'm Doing Is Good Or Bad

"First we tried not to let everyone know I was related (to The Rock) because the first thing he said was 'you might catch a little heat being related to me,'" said Jax. "He was like 'you know, you don't need to go around telling people that' and I didn't. He's like 'make sure you're respectful, always shaking hands, asking questions, staying later, and working as hard as you can,'" she continued.

According to Jax, The Rock told her if she worked hard, no one could accuse her of only being in WWE because of her relation to The Rock. She said The Rock is "constantly" giving her advice about her career. Jax also mentioned The Rock has explained the intricacies of the professional wrestling business to her a few times.

"People who see him on social media and the public eye are like 'oh he's a great guy' and he really is. He truly cares," said Jax.

Also on the podcast, Jax was asked about her Wrestlemania 33 experience in April, transitioning from NXT to the main roster, and being the only woman to have her weight announced.
