Paige VanZant has appeared on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars and she has a 4-2-0 record in UFC competition, but now you can add author to the list because the UFC veteran has signed a book deal with the Hachette Book Group.
The deal is just for a single book, with an option for future books, which will be based on how well the first book sells when it hits store shelves in 2018, Damon Martin of Fox Sports broke the story.
“It’s a memoir. Obviously, people learned a little bit about my past and my story and I really haven’t told it all and it’s something I feel like I wouldn’t be able to say out loud so a book is the perfect way,” VanZant told Fox Sports. “Because it’s my words but I don’t have to say them out loud. I’m really excited. It’s just my story about how I became a fighter and what path I had to take to get here.”
Hachette Book Groups has also published materials from such famed authors as JK Rowling, James Patterson, Stephanie Meyer and many others.
VanZant hasn’t competed since headlining UFC On Fox 22 in December 2016, where she suffered a submission defeat to Michelle Waterson.
