Former Bellator MMA Featherweight Title challenger Daniel Weichel is going to need a new opponent for Bellator 169, that’s because Paul Redmond has suffered an injury and has been pulled from the card.

Bellator officials, when contacted by MMA Junkie, issued the following statement about a replacement for Redmond.

“(We are) actively seeking a new opponent for Weichel,” said the unnamed Bellator MMA official.

Redmond was set to make his promotional debut after a disappointing run in the UFC, which saw him go winless in his two appearances there.

Weichel will be entering the bout against a new opponent on a two fight winning streak, those two wins came over Georgi Karakhanyan and Emmanuel Sanchez.

If Weichel remains on the card and an opponent can be secured, the bout will be taking place on the televised portion of the event.

Bellator 169 is taking place on Friday, December 16th from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland with King Mo and Satoshi Ishii headlining.
