Bobby Knuckles Feels UFC 213 Is Too Soon For Next Fight

MMA

Robert “The Reaper” Whittaker, also affectionately known as "Bobby Knuckles," picked up the biggest win of his professional MMA career at UFC On Fox 24, when he finished former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Ronaldo Souza with strikes in the second round.

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold has called out Whittaker for a fight at UFC 213, but the Aussie feels that UFC 213 is too quick a turnaround for him.

“It’s news to me,” Whittaker said after the event. “It’s cool, but it’s too fresh. I’ve got to get back home to my kids, I’ve got to see my wife. Let me see my family first. It’s a bit rushed. It’s too much to process at once.”

Rockhold would be competing for the first time since dropping the middleweight title to Michael Bisping at UFC 199.

Whittaker is starting his run towards the gold. It started with Souza and he wants it to end with gold around his waist.

“I’m on my title run,” Whittaker said. “I’m on my run (and) I want that belt.”

UFC 213 takes place on Saturday, July 8 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no headliners announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event.
