Rick Glenn Says UFC 215 Bout Should’ve Been Stopped, Gavin Tucker Disagrees

MMA

Former World Series Of Fighting Featherweight Champion Rick Glenn picked up a dominant unanimous decision win over Gavin Tucker at UFC 215.

Controversy reared its ugly head in the bout as many believed the referee should’ve stopped the fight instead of letting Tucker take a bad beating for three rounds. Glenn is agreeing with the majority in that the referee should have stopped the bout, instead of letting it go the distance.

“Midway through the fight, definitely in the third round, I looked up to the ref and asked him, ‘Hey, you know, stop the fight?'” Glenn said after the event. “But (Tucker) would move just enough. But he was taking some unnecessary damage, I thought. It’s too bad. We’re in the hurting business, but I don’t want to see anyone getting hurt unnecessarily. It definitely should have been stopped.”

Kyle Cardinal was the official for the bout and he has officiated UFC events in the past.

Tucker did suffer four broken facial bones in the bout, but he disagrees with Glenn and the majority, because he believes the referee did a great job during the fight.

The fighter made his feelings known via Facebook:

In that fight, it was Tucker who suffered a decision loss and subsequently suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career.
