Sam Alvey is coming off of a close decision win over former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans at UFC Fight Night: Mexico City.
There is another former light heavyweight champion that Alvey wants to fight in Vitor Belfort.
“It started with Rashad,” Alvey said to MMA Junkie. “Vitor (Belfort), you’re next. I don’t care where or when. You just tell me where, and I’ll sign the dotted line tomorrow.”
Belfort himself hasn’t competed since a decision win over former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nate Marquardt at UFC 212.
The Brazilian says if he ever does face Alvey inside of the Octagon, then a knockout is coming his way.
It was a promise that Belfort made via Instagram:
The promotion's next event in the city is UFC 216 this October.
