Marcin Prachnio had no opponent after Jake Collier was forced to withdraw from their UFC On Fox 28 bout due to injury, but now he has a new opponent in the form of Sam Alvey.

The Orlando Sentinel first reported the bout.

Alvey (31-10-0-1NC) is making his UFC Light Heavyweight Division debut in this fight, having spent his entire UFC tenure at middleweight. Alvey earned a record of 8-5-0 in the UFC Middleweight Division, with notable wins coming over Rashad Evans, Nate Marquardt and Daniel Kelly. Alvey had also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 16, losing to Joey Rivera in the second round of the reality show.

It's worth noting that Alvey missed weight in his last bout after taking the fight on short notice.

Prachnio (13-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of an eight fight winning streak. Prachnio hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years and that last loss came to Aleksandar Rakic at Final Fight Championship 16. Prachnio has competed in the One Championship promotion for his last four fights and three of his four wins came by KO/TKO.

UFC On Fox 28 takes place on Saturday, February 24 from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
