Sergio Pettis may be in line for a title shot after defeating a game Brandon Moreno at UFC Mexico.

The younger brother to Anthony, Sergio withstood a pressing first round and an even more pressing body triangle to make second round comeback and pepper away at Moreno. Pettis kept his range, faked takedowns to set up strikes, and scrambled his way to a unanmious decision win.

Round Five: The round begins with Pettis attacking Moreno with a variety of kicks, Moreno scores a takedown on Pettis and he gets the full guard. Moreno gets back control on a scrambling Pettis, Pettis scrambles to his feet to get the fight standing again. Pettis and Moreno swing away at each other as the round ends.

Official Result: #6 Sergio Pettis def. #7 Brandon Moreno by unanimous decision (49-46, 48-46, 48-46)

Pettis has now equaled his brother Anthony's UFC win total with 7, despite being in the company for 2 less years. Pettis is likely in line to receive a UFC Flyweight Championship shot after title holder Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson defends against contender Ray Borg at UFC 215 on September 9.
