Shane Carwin Says He's Accepted Fight With Fedor In Rizin

If Shane Carwin is to believed, a fight with Fedor could be on the horizon.

This weekend, the 12-2 Carwin posted a photo of a Rizin FF glove with the quote “Hey @rizin_PR you are going to need bigger gloves, these do not fit, not even close!”

Rizin is home to the likes of fan favorites Wanderlei Silva, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett, and with Carwin becoming a free agent recently. figured to be a player in negotiations for his services.

When a fan mentioned that he'd like to see Carwin fight heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko, Carwin replied "I accepted that fight two weeks ago. Would be an honor. It is up to him."

Carwin last competed in June 2011, dropping a unanimous decision to Junior dos Santos at UFC 131. The former interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Carwin would take a five-plus year layoff. Fedor also entered retirement after a 2012 win over Pedro Rizzo, but returned to defeat Jaideep Singh, and later Fabio Maldonado in controversial fashion.
