Sheldon Westcott has suffered an injury and he has subsequently been pulled from next month’s UFC Fight Night 104 card, where he was set to face Alex Morono in a welterweight division fight.

Morono (14-3-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, earning victories over the duo of Kyle Noke and James Moontasri. Morono is also a former Legacy Fighting Championships Welterweight Champion, he defeated Derrick Krantz to win the belt at Legacy FC 49, he would relinquish the title upon signing with the UFC. Morono will be entering the fight on an eight fight winning streak, a winning streak that has lasted over two years.

UFC officials have yet to comment on the situation, however, they are currently searching for a late replacement to fight Morono. This is the third fight on the card to be affected by injuries, recently a pair of lightweights in Johnny Case and Evan Dunham pulled out of their respective fights against Abel Trujillo and James Vick. In that case, the UFC simply put Trujillo and Vick against each other, instead of searching for replacement opponents.

UFC Fight Night 104 takes place on Saturday, February 4 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas with Dennis Bermudez and Chan Sung Jung headlining.
