NXT taped their newest set of shows on earlier this month in Atlanta at Center Stage, and saw a huge development in a top program when it aired this Wednesday night.
Johnny Gargano challenged NXT Champion Andrade Cien Almas to a title re-match in the main event of the show. In an effort to gain the opportunity, Gargano said that he'd leave NXT if he wasn't able to capture the championship that eluded him at NXT Takeover Philadelphia.
Gargano and Almas were said to have had another good match. When Gargano applied the Gargano Escape, his former tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa appeared and cracked him with a crutch, allowing Andrade Cien Almas to win. As a result, Gargano is banished from NXT.
Gargano, who was accompanied at ringside by his wife Candice LeRae, was joined at the top of the ramp by NXT General Manager William Regal.
