Thiago Alves Faces Curtis Millender At UFC Fight Night Austin

A welterweight division attraction is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night Austin as Thiago Alves is in action against Curtis Millender.

Alves (22-11-0) has won just one of his last three under the UFC banner, with the lone victory coming by decision over Patrick Cote at UFC 210. Alves was supposed to fight Zak Cummings at UFC Fight Night St. Louis, but Cummings pulled out of the bout due to an injury. Alves has previously challenged for the UFC Welterweight Title, losing to then champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 100.

Millender (14-3-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and does so on the strength of a six fight winning streak. Millender did win two of four in Bellator MMA competition, with those victories coming over Steven Ciaccio and Johnny Cisneros. Millender is also coming off of a three fight run in the Legacy Fighting Alliance, last defeating Nick Barnes by knockout at LFA 30.

UFC Fight Night Austin Takes place on Saturday, February 18 from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas with Donald Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
