Titan Fighting Championships CEO Lex McMahon airs his events live on UFC Fight Pass, with the last one being Titan FC 43 this past Saturday Night.
McMahon recently got one of his contracted fighters in Volkan Oezdemir signed to a UFC deal.
“We have this tagline at Titan: fans, fighters first,” McMahon said to MMA Fighting. “There comes a time when you have to be more than just marketing. You have to mean what you say. I felt that Volkan really had an opportunity to get to the UFC if he had a good performance,” McMahon said. “Just because of circumstance, he really wasn't getting that chance.”
McMahon also knows that a good relationship with the UFC makes things better in the long run.
“It’s synergistic,” McMahon said. “We sometimes lose out on building brandable fighters, fighters we can have a long run with. But on the flip side people know we’re going to get great fighters because I think guys know we’re going to give them a fair shake.”
UFC Fight Night 104 takes place on Saturday, February 4 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas with Dennis Bermudez and Chan Sung Jung headlining, the main card airs live on Fox Sports 1. Fightful.com's Showdown Joe Ferraro calls the action for Titan FC.
