UFC Has Cleared Mark Hunt To Fight Again

MMA

Heavyweight fighter Mark Hunt recently released a statement through his manager to The Daily Telegraph stating that he has passed all tests required by the UFC to return to action.

Now the UFC has confirmed that Hunt is able to compete again and did so in a statement issued to MMA Fighting:

Israel Adesanya Corrects Fan Who Says Alex Pereira Sucks: 'He's Really Good, Show Him Respect'

“After a full medical analysis at the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas, UFC confirms that heavyweight athlete Mark Hunt has been cleared to compete.”

Hunt was set to fight Marcin Tybura in the main event of UFC Fight Night Sydney, but was forced off the card by the promotion due to “health concerns.” The supposed health concerns arose after Hunt penned an article for Players Voice in which the fighter stated that he suffers from symptoms related to CTE.

The heavyweight did have tests done by two separate doctors in his native Australia, but the UFC wouldn’t clear him until their doctors ran tests as well.

Although Hunt doesn’t have a fight booked at the moment, the fighter’s manager did say that he would like to fight former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum in a rematch this coming February.
