WWE revealed that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton received ten staples to close the wound he received at the hands of Brock Lesnar in their main event match at Summerslam.

WWE.com has learned that Randy Orton has received 10 staples to close a laceration on his forehead following the brutal assault by Brock Lesnar that resulted in a TKO at SummerSlam.
Orton was split open in disgusting fashion when stiff elbows from Lesnar cracked Orton in the head. A pool of blood formed, officials showed up, and the match was called off abruptly. The two had wrestled for under twelve minutes when the match was called off. Only four matches on the show were shorter than the evening's main event.
After Summerslam, Randy Orton was helped up by Shane McMahon and left under his own power.
